17 days on the road, 13 cities in four countries summarizes my busy October travels. Mostly my travel is work-related, though I do try to combine it with some visits of personal interest, such as Oktoberfest or visiting friends / relatives. Here are my stops along the way:
During my stay in Hamburg, I visited BodyMedia Innovation Days. This was the second of four of their events I attended.
I attended the Fitnation event, which was organised by Virtuagym (I presented two sessions) with over 300 attendees from a dozen countries:
I combined meetings with three clubs with a visit to Oktoberfest with my family.
In Greifenberg, I met the Hardys team, who is the first client of the Finnish “Dorent” concept.
During my time in Cologne, I set up three meetings (at the airport and in the city) with several clubs and suppliers.
I attended meetings at the FIBO headquarters, a DIFG seminar and the Bodylife Awards:
6) Unna / Bochum
In Unna, I visited friends and industry colleagues Matthias Sellmann of Gantner and Winfried Horstenkamp, owner of Oase, where I gained my first club management and equipment distribution career experience in Europe 1985-87.
During my time in Ireland, I attended IHRSA’s 19th Annual European Congress (the 2020 the event will take place in Berlin October 18-21):
During my time in Müllheim, I had a meeting with Injoy owner Stefan Hauser. I also had the chance to see my relatives Barbara and Hubert Braun for dinner.
On the way, I managed to stop in Freiburg where I had a wonderful view over the Freiburger Münster from Skyebar.
In Zurich, I visited McFit’s first brand in Switzerland (the John Reed Music Fitness Club), and the ZüriWiesn – Zurich’s version of Oktoberfest.
In Mannheim, I visited the Aufstiegskongress (DHfPG) and heard the word wizard and social media mogul Fred Neust:
A visit to Reichenau in the fall usually means an abundance of pumpkins:
We enjoy living so close to the Alps and go for hikes whenever we can:
