After my 19 day Ayurveda retreat in Sri Lanka I returned January 6th to home base in Winterthur, Switzerland in a very relaxed and focused state of mind.
Our new Atelier / office on the ground floor of our house is now fully renovated and equipped, so that clients and friends will have one more good reason to visit me.
My regular pensum of weekly trips has started, with two business trips in January:
1) Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam, Netherlands: took part in the monthly WODO meeting of client Virtuagym, attended meetings with another client Face Force.
Met with Dennis Zuijdervliet of Fit for Free/Sport City, an attendee of the SIBEC meeting last November in Morocco.
I also visited a very innovative children’s activity concept Friends Call Me Jim.
Inspired by my Australian friend Paul Brown to exercise at least every other day, I also found time to take part in two HIIT classes: the first one at Hi Studios with friend Anthony Barquisseau of Genae Clubs (France) who brought 17 of his staff to this great city to tour clubs.
Then joined fellow Canadian Thomas Woods for a Box Shred class at Saints & Stars with the new Dutch sales manager for Eleiko, Pieter Wierenga at Vondel Gym, providing him with a market overview and contacts.
2) Wiesbaden & Frankfurt, Germany
Met with Jennifer Wicklein, Sales Manager of Face Force as well as a dozen attendees of the Positive Kick off meeting at Dorint Hotel.
At the Frankfurt airport caught up with Maik Ebener, who I worked with 18 years ago and who is now Marketing Director for Power Plate.
Next trip is to the ISPO show in Munich February 4th, then on to Berlin on the 5th for client meetings, / club visits and networking. At least one London trip is planned for February.
Looking forward to March
March will be a very busy month, starting with Meet the Top in Mallorca March 7-10, then immediately on to Toronto for a night and onward to San Diego for the IHRSA convention and trade show, arriving via Toronto on the 19th. Same day I head to Cologne for the Eckdaten presentation of the German industry report for 2018, and then onward to Saarbrücken to lecture in the MBA programme of the German University…15 days non-stop, six countries and seven cities.
