My Meetings and Events in October & November

My Meetings and Events in October & November 900 600 Hans Muench

Day excursions to Lake Constance (Bodensee) aside, I have been home-based for months, and I have adapted, like most of us, as well as possible. Some people have suggested it must be hard for me not travelling, but actually it has been OK. As I have been able to travel extensively the past 40 years (plus my US schooling and university years in San Diego, Miami and Portland in the late 70’s), I do not feel that I have “missed anything”.

Practicing safe at home habits:

Here in Switzerland we have been wearing masks for many months, practice physical distancing and washing my hands several times per day. But the stores are still open, I can work out at my club, play tennis (inside and out) and that is not true in other countries.

To decompress, I took long walks as the leaves changed colour along the Eulach tributary.

Playing tennis indoors

The outdoor tennis season is now over, though I could play at my tennis club a couple times, before moving to the indoor courts where I play once per week. It is fortunate that I have a regular partner who challenges me.

Final tennis outside, now 1x/week indoors

Mountain Moves Event

My first Mountain Moves event in October (their sixth event) brought over 150 Swiss operators and suppliers together. After the SFGV event in August, this was the only opportunity for the sector to get together. There were several presentations (Henrik Gockel and Felix Zimmermann were two of the best), but heading up the mountain (twice) to celebrate together was the highlight.

New client update: Shapemaster

The UK-based manufacturer of electric fitness machines, aimed at the senior population, is the newest client I am collaborating with on international projects.

Together with Jon Nasta I gave a Webinar for Graeme Hinde’s LFX network, supported the Lunch and Learn webinars of Virtuagym, which restarted after German clubs were again sent into lockdown, and helped promote Dr.Paul Bedford’s Retention Convention.

Looking forward

I have spent Christmas at home with visits from my children who live in Munich and I am looking forward to 2021. Hopefully in the first quarter of 2021, I will travel to Toronto, Amsterdam, Oslo, Madrid and other cities when it is again safe.

Till next time,
