The Sweat conference in London focused on the boutique market, which is exploding globally. Now 600 boutique studios are in London, (330 one year ago), where a veritable pilgrimage of club operators from around Europe come to obtain inspiration and learn best practices.

Netherlands: Solid Sound Convention

Club Joy’s Solid Sound Convention in Utrecht on March 11th attracted 1.500 instructors for their pre-choreographed group exercise programs „made in the Netherlands“. Club Joy enjoy a 50% market share in the BeNeLux market.

Germany: Eckdaten Market Report

The German trade Association DSSV released their annual Eckdaten Market Report 2018 on March 12th in Köln, showing positive market results for 2017. 8,988 facilities (of which approx. ¼ are boutiques), 12.9% penetration rate, €5.2 Billion turnover in the club sector.

Luzern: SFGV Conference

In Luzern, Switzerland the annual Swiss SFGV conference took place on March 16th. Focus was on how individual clubs can survive the growing threat of chains such as Migros (and their subbrands), Update Fitness, Holmes Place/Evo and Kieser Training. Innovations from Switzerland such as BodyGee and SensoPro were displayed.

Paris: Body Fitness

Body Fitness in Paris took place on the weekend March 16-18. This event has grown to over 60.000 visitors in two new halls. Virtuagym exhibit here again, as well as their partner HBX.
